I’m Zack East — radio personality, nonprofit professional, and someone who apparently can’t say no to a microphone.
I do mornings on 97.5 The Lake and afternoon drive on 98.3 The Coast, both based out of St. Joseph & Benton Harbor, Michigan. I’ve been with Mid-West Family Broadcasting since I graduated from Ferris State University with a degree in Communication, starting as a Promotions Assistant and eventually working my way through roles as a mobile DJ, digital media manager, morning show host, Program Director, Operations Manager, Vice President of Business Development, and Regional Vice President of Strategy. I’ve enjoyed growing into each of those roles throughout 22 years of media work.
The full-time portion of my professional life is in the nonprofit world. I’m Senior Director of Organizational Sustainability at United Way of Southwest Michigan, where I’ve spent the last 2 years working on fundraising, community partnerships, and organizational strategy across Berrien, Cass, and Van Buren counties. It’s serious work, and I take it seriously — but I also think you’re allowed to enjoy what you do, so I try to bring the same energy there that I bring to the air.
During my work in Digital Media, I launched regional brands like the Town Crier Wire news app, MoodyontheMarket.com, and websites, apps, and social media channels for all of our regional brands. I also became a certified digital media sales master, strategizing client campaigns across local and programmatic networks in Targeted Display, PPC, Programmatic TV, and contesting platforms.
I work and live primarily in St. Joseph, Michigan, but I also live part-time with my partner Charles and my dog Gracie in Grand Rapids, Michigan as well.
I would love to connect with you. Please reach out. zackeast@zackeast.com
